Arabelle Lancaster 90th Birthday
Arabelle Lancaster was honored at a birthday celebration Feb. 11 at Caporella’s Italian Restaurant. The affair was hosted by her sons Paul Jr. and his wife Adrienne and Gary Lancaster.
Out-of-town guests came from New York, Baltimore, Md., Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. Many of her friends and family who live locally were also in attendance.
A short program preceded the dinner. Sons Paul Jr., and Gary, as well as her three grandsons, gave tributes as well as memories and life lessons that they learned from her. Her great-grandchildren, PJ (Paul IV), Hunter, Tristan, and Lila presented her with roses and also led the guests in singing “Happy Birthday.” Tyrone Smith, a member of her church, sang one of her favorite hymns, “How Great Thou Art.” Her niece, Germaine Johns-Settles, gave the birthday toast.
After the program a buffet dinner was served to the approximately 70 guests by the restaurant staff. Lancaster received many gifts and cards.
