Actors and Artists of Fayette County will hold open auditions for “The Secret Garden,” by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon. The show is a musical adaptation of the classic novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Individuals will be required to sing 16-32 bars of a classic musical theater piece. There are two children’s roles, for 10-11 year olds, and 18 adult roles, and they all require good singing skills. Musical selections should be memorized and rehearsed. Songs from “The Secret Garden” may be sung. Auditions will be held on the mainstage of The Geyer Performing Arts Center, 111 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 14. Waynesburg University will host ETA3 Feb. 21, as part of the University’s Performing Art Series. The concert will be held in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. ETA3 was formed in early 2006 at The Juilliard School by clarinetist Alexey Gorokholinsky, pianist Tomoko Nakayama and flutist Emily Thomas.

City Mission in Washington will hold its Sweet Sunday Dessert Festival Feb. 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Southpointe. There is an admission fee. The cafe and auction will open at noon; dessert tables and Kids Korner will open at 1 p.m.; auction will be held at 4:30 p.m. And other activities at 6 p.m. This is City Mission’s largest fundraiser, netting $98,000 in 2011. The event this year will include 22 youth, amateur and professional desserts, three celebrity judges and a guest emcee, 45 gift baskets and Huggie Bear, the City Mission mascot.
