Country music duo to play PSU Fayette
Country music duo Love and Theft will perform March 14 at 7 p.m. in the Maggie Hardy Margerko Auditorium in the Community Center at Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus. The show is free and open to the public.
“This concert is a great opportunity for the community to hear and enjoy a nationally known band,” said Chad Long, assistant director of student affairs at Penn State Fayette.
As seen on the American County Awards, Love and Theft is comprised of members Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson, both of whom sing lead vocals and play guitar.
Both men were raised as pastors’ children and their respective fathers fed them a steady diet of gospel, oldies and country music.
“Our parents didn’t want us listening to secular music that much, but they’d let us listen to Elvis, Roy Rogers, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band,” Gunderson said. “It was cool to grow up that way, and that’s still my favorite kind of music.”
Love and Theft made its first Grand Ole Opry performance in March 2009 shortly before the release of their first single “Runaway” from their debut album “World Wide Open.”
In 2011, the duo signed with RCA Records in Nashville, Tenn.
The lead-off single to their second studio album “Angel Eyes” was released in November 2011.
