Registration set
Kindergarten registration in the Connellsville Area School District will be held March 19-23. To be registered, children must be 5 years of age before the first day of school.Children with last names beginning with A through M should attend registration from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Last names beginning with N to Z should register 1-3 p.m. Immunizations need not be completed prior to registration, but must be by state law before the start of school. At registration, parents must present the child’s birth certificate, record of immunization, pertinent health information, proof of residency and social security card. Registration includes free vision, hearing and speech screening for each student. Registration dates are: Dunbar Township Elementary, March 19; South Side Elementary, March 20; Connellsville Township Elementary and Clifford N. Pritts Elementary, March 21; Springfield Township Elementary and Bullskin Township Elementary, March 22; and Zachariah Connell Elementary and Dunbar Borough Elementary, March 23.
Workshop slated
The Laurel Highlands High School will offer a free federal student aid (FAFSA) application workshop for parents and students 6 p.m. March 12 and 29 at the high school. The FAFSA application is required in order to receive federal, state and most campus-based aid programs for both grants and student loans. Registration set
The Bethlehem-Center School District will hold kindergarten registration April 18 and 19 at the elementary school. Parents must pick up the necessary forms and schedule an appointment for registration at the school. Forms will be available 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 19. Forms must be completed by the registration date. All registrants must be 5 years of age on or before July 1, 2007. For more information, call the elementary school office at 724-267-4910, Ext. 4922.
Celebration scheduled
Waynesburg University will celebrate its 163rd year and the 162nd anniversary of its charter by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 11 a.m. March 20 in Waynesburg University’s Roberts Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Craig Barnes from Shadyside Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh will address those in attendance. In addition to Barnes’ address, Charter Day will include a formal procession of faculty and recognition of the students who have been chosen for the 2012 Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges directory.
