Heirloom Discovery Days
The Westmoreland County Historical Society will hold an Antiques Appraisal Day Tuesday at 362 Sand Hill Road, (just off Route 30 at Beatty’s Crossroads) Suite 1, Greensburg.
Verbal assessments will be given on a variety of items from 4 to 8 p.m. A fee for appraisals will be charged. There is a three-item limit. Appointments are recommended, and may be made by calling 724-532-1935 extension 10. Walk-ins are welcome, but will be seen after the scheduled appraisals on a first-come basis. Watching the variety of items being assessed while one waits for the appraisal of their object is an interesting and educational experience.
Each of the appraisers is a recognized expert in their field.
John Mickinak has over 30 years of experience as an antiques dealer and estate appraiser.
Pat Walt is a specialist in vintage costume jewelry.
Joanne Mcllhattan is a well known local doll collector and has been restoring dolls since 1984.
Proceeds from the appraisals benefit the Westmoreland County Historical Society – a 501 (c) 3 non-profit educational organization dedicated to acquiring and managing resources related to the history of Westmoreland County and using these resources to encourage a diverse audience to make connections to the past, develop an understanding of the present, and provide direction for the future.
