Local churches host Easter egg hunts
Several local churches are offering Easter egg hunts this holiday season as an opportunity to combine ministry with a fun family activity.
They include Allison Christian Church, located on East Street, which is participating in the World’s Largest Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt between 2 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.
Organized by Family Life, the international hunt will take place on the same day in communities in different parts of the globe and features Resurrection eggs, which contain objects related to Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection plus a story booklet.
The Family Life website includes a map that shows egg hunts are taking place throughout the United States, Canada and Belgium at press deadline.
The Rev. Michael Peton, pastor, said, “We at the Allison Christian Church are excited to share with the community our celebration of Jesus the Christ. This Easter egg hunt for the children is an open invitation to families to come and share in the fun. What have you been hunting for in your life? The children may find some colored eggs with surprises in them but hopefully many will open up to the greatest story ever told.”
Other egg hunts are scheduled in other churches, beginning tomorrow. Those known to the HeraldStandard.com include:
