To parents of children with autism – You hold the key to your child’s education

Other parents have wanted their child to attend Highlands Hospital Center for Autism. These parents tell me the school district will not allow their students to attend. The parents need to remember that they hold the key to getting their child to Highlands and to not accept “no” for an answer from the school districts.

Parents need to get an advocate for autism. They can get one from mental health. They will help them. Highlands is #1 in our area. Highlands is under the Cleveland Clinic model, which is highly rated and a very reputable clinic for treating autism. Highlands has extensive training, not just one or two days.

I wanted the best for my twins, Hunter and Chuckie. I would stop at nothing to get them in at Highlands. My boys have achieved a lot of goals with excellent teachers since last fall when the center opened their doors. They have more life contact. They can hold a pen and crayon, write and color on their own, they’re more verbal, they can dress and undress themselves.

The school has done wonders and this is only the beginning. I prayed for a school like this and God answered my prayer. I am so excited to see my boys advancing in their education.
