Cornerstone Ministry offers fall festival
Cornerstone Ministry Center, a camp and conference center located in Carmichaels, is hosting its Second Annual Cornerstone Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, as an outreach to the community.
“We want to introduce people to our camp and all the services we have,” said executive director Judy Virgili. “We have summer camp along with a year-round ministry that includes teen and elementary retreats, adult retreats, lock-ins. We do concerts. We recently had one with a community picnic and we had a real good turnout. We also have senior citizen activities, which we will start in January, so we serve all ages.”
Virgili, who is a member of the Carmichaels and Waynesburg ministeriums, explained, “We are a par-church ministry. We are non-denominational and we come alongside the churches to help them in their ministry to the community.”
Cornerstone will distribute brochures and share information on their organization at the festival, which takes place at their ministry center, located at 381 Willis Road.
The festival includes gospel music with special music by The Ambassadors as well as crafts for children, apple butter making, a petting zoo and hayrides. The center is asking for donations for some activities such as paint a pumpkin and making a scarecrow as well as food.
