Entertainment acts take stage at WVU this fall
MORGANTOWN, W.V. — An eclectic mix of musical, theatrical and comedic acts will take the stage this fall at West Virginia University.
One of electronic dance music’s biggest names, Avicii, will play the West Virginia University Coliseum on Sept. 20. Showtime is set for 7:30 p.m.
In 2011, Avicii exploded onto the mainstream music scene with his break-through, multiplatinum selling “LE7ELS,” which gained airplay across the world for its infectious and innovative electronic sound. With chart-toppers “Seek Bromance,” “My Feelings For You,” “Fade into Darkness” and “Silhouettes,” Avicii has risen from bedroom music-maker to international superstar.
Comedy master-mind Lewis Black will bring his trademark brand of “angry” comedy back to the WVU Creative Arts Center Sept. 30 with his “Running on Empty Tour” tour. Showtime is set for 7:30 p.m.
Black is one of America’s most prolific touring comedians. Perhaps best known for his segment “Back in Black” on “The Daily Show,” his “rage,” scathing wit and hilarious views on everything from politics to pop culture have gained him millions of fans.
The new Blue Man Group theatrical tour will visit the WVU Creative Arts Center Oct. 5-6.
The theatrical tour features brand new content highlighted by classic Blue Man favorites.
Blue Man Group is best known for multi-media performances that feature three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a journey that is funny, intelligent and visually stunning.
A live band, whose haunting tribal rhythms help drive the show to its climax, accompanies the Blue Men.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
