Marianna Library to hold fall festival, announces upcoming events
MARIANNA — The Marianna Library Fall Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at West Beth Township Park across from the library at 247 Jefferson and Broad Streets in Marianna.
At 11:30 a.m., historian Josh Scully will present “From Quebec City to Port-au-Prince: The Ambitious Rise and Sudden Fall of France’s North American Empire.”
At 12:30 p.m., Let Freedom Ring Singers, a 60-member community choir, will perform patriotic music under the direction of Jeannie Pierce Waychoff of Heaven Bound Ministries, Inc.
From 1-3 p.m., pony rides with Save-A-Horse will be available for a donation to that organization.
Other all-day events include children’s activities like stories, arts and crafts, games and face painting.
Guest booths will include Marianna Christian Church Centennial Quilt, Washington County Humane Society, Martha Washington Garden Club, Joe Glad’s Marianna Mine Model, Kay Stepp’s Native American artifacts, as well as an exhibit of historical photos from the library’s collection.
A flea market will feature new and used items, crafts, antiques and home party goods. Vendors are welcome. There is a set-up fee for vendors.
Later this month, “Clutter No More,” a workshop by Discover Organizing, will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the library. There is no charge, but registration is required.
The library’s children’s programming begins Oct. 4.
