High school receives positive feedback from accredidation association
CONNELLSVILLE — The Connellsville Area High School recently received positive feedback from the Middle States Association of College and Schools.
Superintendent Daniel Lujetic reported Wednesday that the high school is has likely met the standards for accreditation following a positive report the association presented following a review of the high school.
The evaluated the school’s curriculum, student achievement, accountability, communications and district pride.
Lujetic said the association noted that the district’s latest curriculum revisions demonstrate big ideas and are categorized as extensive, comprehensive and cross-curricular.
Also Wednesday, the board reassigned Bruce Jaynes as the full-time assistant principal for the Connellsville Area Career and Technology Center. Jaynes has been working both as the assistant principal for the center as well as the director of technology, but now Lujetic will serve as the acting director of technology with assistance from the district’s network administrator.
n Appointed Eugene Cunningham, district business manager, as primary voting delegate to the Tax Collection Committee for the school district; Cherie Routzahn as first alternate voting delegate; and Lujetic as second alternate voting delegate.
n Appointed Cunningham to represent the district at the 2014 annual meeting of the Southwest Regional Tax Bureau and Routzahn as the alternate representative.
n Approved the service agreement between Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic’s Inpatient Licensed Academic School as proposed.
n Approved the Penguins Assist Program at Springfield Township, Clifford N. Pritts, South Side and West Crawford elementary schools.
