Officials continue search for missing man in Ohiopyle
Search and rescue teams continued to search portions of Ohiopyle State Park Thursday for a man reported missing by his family Wednesday.
Park officials said that the 29-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld until additional family members are notified, last spoke to his family on Tuesday.
His car was later found parked near the Ohiopyle State Park Train Station, and a search was initiated around noon Wednesday and continued until about 7 p.m.
Searchers began to comb the woods and trails for the man shortly before dawn Thursday and continued to look for him through the afternoon.
Park officials joined volunteer firefighters from Ohiopyle and Confluence, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue team and the White Oak Search and Rescue team in the search Thursday.
