Former Uniontown man charged in drug bust
A former Uniontown man was captured out-of-state last week on three-year-old warrant for his arrest on drug charges, police said.
State police filed the charges on July 9, 2009, against George H. Dickinson, 56, after police allege he sold cocaine to an undercover informant in South Union Township in 2005.
Police said they picked up Dickinson at a location in Washington, D.C., on Thursday after they received a tip about his whereabouts.
According to police, Dickinson was charged after he sold more than 82 grams of cocaine to the informant in a business parking lot in exchange for $2,700.
As a result, police said Dickinson was charged with two counts of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
Following his arraignment Friday, Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr. placed Dickinson in Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond.
He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before George.
