MVH announces weekly events
Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH) is sponsoring a variety of informative programs during June. Many of the events will be held in the hospital’s Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center (ECC) unless otherwise noted.
Tuesday
Better Breathers Club
2 to 3 p.m., ECC. The Better Breathers Club is free and open to all adults and their friends, family or caregivers who want to learn or share information about living well with breathing issues. RSDS Support Group
6 to 8 p.m., ECC. The Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSDS) Group is free and open to all persons with RSDS or related illnesses. For more information, call 724-929-9492.
Wednesday
Advanced Carbohydrate Counting
6 to 8 p.m., ECC. This is a diabetes self-management class that focuses on counting carbohydrate intake. Topics range from how to measure the upward drive each meal has on blood sugar to information on the glycemic index. Completion of the three-day Diabetes Self-Management Training is required prior to attending this class. For more information or to register, call 724-258-1483.
Friday
Strawberry Festival
11 a.m. to 4 p.m., ECC and outside Central Plaza. The Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. sponsors this ever-popular summer kick-off event. A delicious menu can be enjoyed in the comfort of the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. Strawberry plants, home baked goods and crafts are a few of the offered amenities.
