Officials say bone found in Uniontown came from animal
Officials from the Fayette County Coroner’s office said Tuesday that a second examination of a bone found buried in an alleyway in Uniontown indicated that the bone belonged to an animal and was not human skeletal remains.
Uniontown police said the bone was found buried in an alley near 96 Millview St. on Saturday evening.
Roger Victor, chief field investigator for the coroner’s office, responded to the scene and conducted a dig at the site that unearthed a Barbie doll and another toy, but no additional bones were found, officials said.
A radiologist reviewed the bone and determined that it was likely an animal bone and a second examination conducted by a forensic pathologist at California University of Pennsylvania confirmed those findings, officials said.
