Fredericktown man to stand trial on sex charges
A Fredericktown man who police allege was caught in an undercover sex sting conducted by Southwest Regional police in Belle Vernon will stand trial.
Donald Duricic, 28, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Jesse Cramer with multiple counts of unlawful contact with minors related to statutory sexual assault, sexual abuse of children and disseminating obscene materials.
Cramer dismissed one of the unlawful contact charges against Duricic but bound the remaining counts for Fayette County Court following a preliminary hearing held Friday.
According to police Chief John D. Hartman, Duricic began an online chat with an undercover police officer pretending to be a 15-year-old girl on April 15. Hartman said that Duricic engaged in a long conversation with the officer regarding sex, taking nude photographs and making a pornographic video.
A meeting was arranged and Duricic was subsequently taken into custody without incident in Belle Vernon Park at 10 a.m. Monday.
Duricic remains free after posting $40,000 straight cash bond.
