Replenishment blood drive to be held Tuesday

1 min read

A replenishment blood drive in honor of Josh Redepenning will be held from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at Faith Assembly of God, 690 Morgantown Road, Uniontown.

Redepenning, 28, was born with DiGeorge syndrome, an abnormality of chromosome 22, causing him to have a poor immunity system, heart defects and a cleft palate, as well as behavioral problems.

He currently has cellulitis in his leg and tumors on his spine that could also impact his kidneys and intestines. He is scheduled for surgery at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

This special blood drive is scheduled to help replenish the community blood supply from which Redepenning will use during surgery and may continue to use in the future.

To make an appointment to donate blood, log on to www.centralbloodbank.org, click “Make an Appointment” and search with sponsor code ZRTN1023, or call the church office at 724-437-8101.
