A Uniontown man will stand trial for allegedly robbing three women in a span of less than two hours in Uniontown on May 19.

Tommi Barber, 27, was charged with three counts of robbery, theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing two purses and one wallet from three women.

Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros held the charges against Barber for Fayette County Court following a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Uniontown police Officer Eric Hanula said that Barber first robbed Lucille Miller of Uniontown while she was in a business parking lot on Pittsburgh Street shortly before 4 p.m. May 19.

Less than two hours later, Hanula said Barber struck again, this time pulling a purse from the grasp of Carol Mitchell of Belle Vernon while she was sitting inside her car in a parking lot on Pittsburgh Street.

A few minutes later, inside the CVS Pharmacy on Pittsburgh Street, Barber allegedly stole a wallet owned by Kira Goodwin from underneath Goodwin’s arm while she was shopping in the store.

Hanula said officers used video surveillance from inside the store to identify Barber as the suspect in the robberies.

Barber remains in Fayette County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bond.
