Sylvester Durant Jr., 32, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering the welfare of a child.
Prosecutors withdrew the aggravated assault and recklessly endangering the welfare of a child charges, and Durant waived the remaining count to Fayette County Court during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr.
Brownsville police said the incident occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Green Street.
Officers said that Durant got into an altercation with Christina Dillinger, also of Brownsville, and that during the fight he choked her, dragged her and headbutted her.
