Clancy wins Penn Relays

Kailyn Clancy’s trip to the historic Penn Relays was a successful one Thursday afternoon as the California senior finished first in the high school girls shot put.

Clancy’s winning throw of 13.80 meters (45-3½) edged Claudia Ababio, of Clarksburg, Md., by ½-inch. Clancy hit her winning throw on her third and final attempt in the prelims.

Brownsville closes with win

The Brownsville boys and girls track & field teams had a meet within the meet Thursday afternoon at the Section 6-AA Championships held at California Area High School.

The Falcons defeated Bentworth, 83-56, to finish 5-4. The Lady Falcons beat the Lady Bearcats, 77-50, to close with a 7-2 mark.
