Breastfeeding class, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Monday, Mon-Vale HealthPLEX. This free class is designed for mothers who plan to breastfeed to help them feel more comfortable and confident while feeding their newborns. Information: 724-258-BABY (2229) ext. 9.

n Innovations — What is Causing my Foot Pain, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Monongahela Valley Hospital, Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. Dr. Mark H. Hofbauer will present a free program to discuss ways of managing arthritis of the foot and ankle. Registration: 724-258-1333.

n Colorectal educational program, 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Monongahela Valley Hospital, Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. Monongahela Valley Hospital will offer a free colorectal cancer education and screening in observance of the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Control Month. A panel of health care professionals will provide information, and staff will explain the take-home colorectal screening kit. Reservations are required. Reservations: 724-258-1333.

n Managing Your Diabetes, 8:30-11:30 a.m. May 6-8, Mon-Vale HealthPLEX. Completion of the three-day “Diabetes Self Management Training” is required prior to attending this class. Registration: 724-258-1483.

n Childbirth Preparation Class, 7-9 p.m. May 7, 14, 21 and 28, Mon-Vale HealthPLEX. Topics include signs of labor, vaginal and caesarian deliveries, the role of a labor coach and comfort measurers, including breathing and relaxation skills and pain medication options. n Seniors for Safe Driving, 8 a.m. to noon May 8, Monessen Senior Center. It is a highway safety education program for seniors 55 years of age or older. Successful completion of the program makes senior drivers eligible for a five-percent discount on their automobile insurance premiums. Community events

Bone density screening, 1-3 p.m. May 7, Healthy Directions, Finleyville Giant Eagle. This free screening will indicate if a person needs a more extensive testing and if they have osteoporosis. No appointments necessary. Information: 724-348-6699.

n National Women’s Health Week, May 12-16, Cornerstone Care, Cherry Tree Imaging and Uniontown Hospital. Cornerstone Care’s medical mobile unit will offer women’s health screenings, including pap smears, clinical breast exams and mammogram referrals. The unit will be at Cornerstone Care 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 12, Cherry Tree Imaging 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 15 and Uniontown Hospital 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 16. Advanced appointments are required. n Parkinson’s disease support group, 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Abundant Life Church, 1239 Brownfield Road, Uniontown. Anyone with Parkinson’s disease, along with their family members and caregivers, is encouraged to attend.

n Silver Generation Support Program, 10 a.m. to noon every Wednesday, East End United Community Center. The program is for adults ages 55 and older. Information: 724-437-1660.
