Registration set

Connellsville Area Senior High School will hold new student registration by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Students may pick up a new student packet at the front desk prior to an appointment.

The following information is needed: the new student packet, proof of residency, birth certificate, social security card, immunization records and any court-appointed papers. To schedule an appointment call 724-628-1350.

Orientation slated

Freshman orientation for the Connellsville Area Senior High School will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 18. Parents of freshman students may attend from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Schedules and a school map will be handed out to the students in attendance.

Schedules available

Schedules for students in grades 10-12 at the Connellsville Area Senior High School will be available online beginning Aug. 18. No schedules will be handed out, and no schedule changes will be made until the first week of school.

Orientation slated

Kindergarten orientation in the Uniontown Area School District will be held 9-11:15 a.m. on the following dates: Aug. 11, Lafayette School; Aug. 12, Ben Franklin School; Aug. 13, Menallen School for those who registered their children for kindergarten in the Menallen and Franklin areas; and Aug. 14, Wharton Elementary School for those who registered their children in the Wharton and Marclay areas.

Summer food program continues

The Frazier School District is currently operating a summer food service program through Aug. 14 at the Frazier High School cafeteria from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Newell United Methodist Church from 11:30 a.m. to noon; and Marion Villa Community Center from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. All sites will be open Monday through Thursday.

Adults may purchase lunch for $3.25.

All children have equal access to the benefits of the summer food service program regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

Schedule pick-up set

Eighth-grade students in the Connellsville Area School District can pick up their class schedules for the 2014-15 school year from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 13 at the Connellsville Area Junior High.

Students must use the auditorium entrance.

Orientation and registration set

Seventh-grade student/parent orientation will be held in the auditorium of the Connellsville Area Junior High School at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Principal Richard Evans will give a brief overview of his expectations for the coming year and a question and answer session will follow.

Schedules and tours of the building will also be available.

If seventh-graders choose not to attend the orientation, they may pick their schedules up during the eighth-grade schedule pickup which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Students new to the Connellsville Area School District may register for the upcoming school year from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. or from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 14-15, and Aug. 18 at the Connellsville Area Junior High located at 710 Locust St. Ext. in Connellsville.

No student will be registered unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all new students must register before the first day of school, which is Aug. 25.

The following information is needed: name, address, and phone number of previous school; most recent report card; immunization record; and proof of residency, such as electric bill or phone bill, etc., with address on it. No student will be registered for school without the proper immunizations.
