Curriculum night set
Each school in the Albert Gallatin Area School District will host its annual curriculum night the week of Sept. 2. For parents, the event serves as an opportunity to discuss the curriculum, student expectations and classroom procedures with teachers, administrators and counselors. Curriculum night will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. each night. The event will be held on Sept. 2 at the high school; Sept. 3 at North and South middle schools; and Sept. 4 at all elementary schools.
Classes to begin
California University of Pennsylvania’s first day of classes for the Fall 2014 semester will be on Monday. The Cal U community will welcome first-year students as they move into university housing beginning this week.
Hall of Fame weekend planned
The Uniontown Area High School Hall of Fame weekend is planned for Sept. 12-13. Alumni, friends and families are invited to join the Academics, Arts and Athletics Hall of Fame Committee, along with Hall of Fame Class of 2014 inductees to celebrate with a tailgating party and induction ceremony/breakfast at UAHS. Opening events announced
Laurel Highlands School District (LHSD) has posted Kindergarten bus schedules and first day of school information on its website and at LHSD elementary schools. Kindergarten buses will not run the first day of school, and parents must report to school with their child. Open house for parents of elementary school students will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 3. Open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the Laurel Highlands Middle School and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the high school. and high school students and parents is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
