Seven signs of depression

According to Dr. Norman E. Rosenthal, a clinical professor of psychiartry at Georgetown University School of Medicine and author of “The Emotional Revolution,” there are seven signs that may indicate that a friend or loved one is experiencing depression. On his blog, normanrosenthal.com, he includes:

n Loss of interest in things that were previously pleasurable

n Difficulty sleeping

n Changes to eating

n Anger and irritability

n Negative thoughts

n Suicidal thoughts

n Loss of confidence
