The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce has honored James Pierce of Uniontown, a junior at Laurel Highlands High School, as a student of the month for November.

A son of Jim and Michelle Pierce, he is undecided about the post-secondary school he will attend but plans to study criminal justice with the career goal of becoming a police officer.

Pierce is an altar server at St. Mary Nativity Roman Catholic Church. He is a member of the varsity football team and is a wrestler at his school.

Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s education council and will be presented a recognition certificate at the students of the month luncheon in April 2015.
