Mount Pleasant man charged in gun incident
A Mount Pleasant man is behind bars after police allege he assaulted a woman while holding a man at gunpoint in Bridgeport, Mount Pleasant Township, on Tuesday.
Jeffrey Wolfe, 35, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats following the incident at a residence on Water Street.
State police said the charges were filed after Wolfe assaulted Cindy Wolfe, also of Mount Pleasant, between 10 and 11 p.m.
Trooper Robert Harr said that Stephen Palkovic, also of Mount Pleasant, attempted to intervene on Cindy Wolfe’s behalf but that Jeffrey Wolfe retrieved a rifle and pointed it at him before firing a round into the wall of the residence while continuing to beat Cindy Wolfe.
It was not clear what sparked the altercation.
Jeffrey Wolfe was placed in Westmoreland County Prison following his arraignment.
He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date.
