By Rob Longo assistant Sports Editor 1 min read

The Waynesburg University men’s tennis team was picked to finish third in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference standings for the upcoming season, according to the conference’s annual preseason coaches’ poll that was released Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets took fifth at last season’s PAC Tournament.

Once again, Grove City selected as the favorite to take home the crown this spring. The Wolverines collected 62 of a maximum 64 points and earned six of eight first-place votes. If Grove City does take home the title this spring, it would be the 24th-straight crown for the Wolverines.

Saint Vincent was predicted to finish just in front of Waynesburg in second place with a total of 51 points and the two first-place votes. The Jackets followed with 40 points. The rest of the conference rounded out with Washington & Jefferson, Westminster, Thomas More, Thiel and Bethany, in order.

The spring portion of Waynesburg’s schedule is set to begin with non-conference action March 1 against Pitt-Greensburg at the Greensburg Racquet Club. The Jackets open up PAC play March 19 against Saint Vincent.
