1 min read

A marijuana grow operation was discovered in Greene County on Thursday.

A joint fugitive apprehension task force led by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office consisting of Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies and Cumberland Township Police Officers discovered the operation in the basement of a home in Nemacolin.

The deputies found the marijuana grow as they searched for a wanted party with the consent of the resident. In total, deputies seized 50 suspected marijuana plants and several pieces of equipment that were used to grow the plants.

One arrest was made on scene and the evidence will be processed by the state’s crime lab. The case is currently under investigation by the Cumberland Township Police Department and no names are being released.

Greene County Sheriff Brian Tennant said in a statement that he’s “happy with the collaboration and support received from the Cumberland Township Police Department and Chief (Craig) Miller.”

The case is still under investigation.
