Uniontown
Fire extinguished
Uniontown firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant house at 104 S. Mt. Vernon Ave.Wednesday evening to find that someone had set a chair on fire inside the empty building.
The fire was put out in less than half an hour and no one was injured. Owner Rainesh Shah said he had intended to tear the building down in the near future. The fire was reported just before 6 p.m.

Man arrested
Richard Endsley, 43, of Brownsville was taken into custody and lodged in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $5,000 straight bond for allegedly grabbing Patricia Endsley, 72, of Brownsville by the throat, threatening to kill her and hitting her in the face on Raymond Avenue at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, state police said.

Charges filed
Driving under the influence charges were filed against Kevin Tipton of Morgantown, W.Va. as a result of a traffic stop on the Mon/Fayette Expressway on Oct. 8, state police said.

Equipment stolen
State police said charges are pending against a suspect in the theft of a DeWalt polisher from Tri-Star Dodge on Superior Way on Oct. 3.

Scrap stolen
State police said scrap was stolen from Laurel Machine Co. of Mount Braddock between Oct. 31-Nov.3.

Mower stolen
Dianne Mary Pruden of Railroad Street reported that someone stole her riding lawn mower Oct. 26 from her backyard, state police said.

Home vandalized
Patricia Campbell of First Street said someone spray-painted her house and broke out all the first floor windows on Tuesday, state police said.
