Evan Peffer

The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce has honored Evan Peffer, a junior at Brownsville Area High School, as a student of the month for October.

A daughter of Jim and Barb Peffer, she plans to attend Carnegie Mellon University to study biology/pre-med with the career goal of becoming a pediatric surgeon. Peffer has volunteered at Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville and with the Leo Club and has worked at bingo for three years.

Peffer won the Superintendent’s Award, is a member of the 4.0 club, has been Falcon student of the month, received the Rotary Art Award and is a member of the Spanish Honor Society.

At Brownsville, she is involved in cross country, musical, art club, Leo Club, student council, Academic League, math competition team and book club.

Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s education council. They will be presented a recognition certificate at the students of the month dinner in April 2015.
