Shawn Tevis Barr, 20, and Anthony William McPoyle, 21, both of Dover, Del., were arrested following an incident at The Wood Bar on Wood Street at 1:07 a.m. Oct. 2, borough police said.

Barr allegedly yelled derogatory remarks at officers who were there on another matter and McPoyle allegedly interfered with arresting officers, police said. Barr was charged with riot, false identification, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and underage drinking. McPoyle was charged with riot, obstructing administration of law, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and aggravated assault.

Christine Kindl, director of communications and public relations for California Unversity, said McPoyle has been suspended indefinitely from the school’s football team.

She said, “All Cal U students, including student-athletes, are expected to abide by our Student Code of Conduct. Students who violate the code will be involved in the university’s disciplinary process and held accountable for their behavior.”
