A day after 14 people were killed in the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, Republicans in the U.S. Senate, including four Republican presidential candidates, overwhelmingly voted down a measure that would introduce tighter gun laws by extending FBI background checks on every firearms purchase. Do you agree with the Republicans on this issue? Or do you think the Democrats, who overwhelmingly supported the issue, are right?

“I don’t care what kind of law you make about guns, a criminal or psycho is going to get a gun somehow. Give me a break. I’m tried of all this talk about gun control. It won’t work.”

“Why do we even pretend that this is an option or a debate anymore? It’s been three years since a kid who should’ve never been near a gun shot 20 children, and we didn’t do anything. This is America. We ‘pray,’ debate, rinse, and repeat. We cling to a book written 2,000 years ago, and we hate everyone who doesn’t like it. We recite a piece of paper written 200 years ago, and we hate everyone who thinks it could be changed. It’s sad, but it’s also ridiculous. Our culture will never change. Everyone gets scared so we grasp for our guns and religion, and those are the only two things I’m actually afraid of.”

“Hunters, you go ahead and keep your bolt action rifles, and you people who think you need a gun for self defense, keep your sidearms, but we have no legit needs for a .223 semi-auto with an oversized mag filled with armor piercing rounds.”

“We need to start enforcing gun laws like we enforce sex laws. If you screw up, you get punished severely and we put your name on a list where anyone can look it up and know they have a potential problem living down the road.”

“Wouldn’t it be nice if all of you all would be willing to stop all mass murder with the same degree you use to stop gun control? Just saying.”

“The guns didn’t kill anyone. Middle Eastern extremist did. And it was in a state with the toughest gun laws while obtaining the guns legally. Shame on the Democrats for politicizing this tragedy!”

“If you think that the stockpile that these people were legally allowed to build has a legitimate purpose in any home, then you live in a fantasy world and shouldn’t be allowed to own guns, at all, yourself.”

“What about extended background checks on gun purchases.”

“California already has extremely strict gun laws. What will passing more gun laws do.”
