Some are saying that the fears being shown by Americans about terrorists are being overblown and politicians such as Donald Trump are using them to their advantage. Other contend that the fears are real and that Trump is right. What do you think?

“I am not saying I agree with Donald Trump, but as he said, until we can figure out what’s going on, we need to do something.”

“And let’s not forget FDR and Congress’ rounding up Japanese living here in the U.S. after Pearl Harbor and interning them. In hindsight, not exactly ‘our finest hour.”‘

“The fears are being exaggerated and used for political purposes by people like Trump.”

“Trump is an ignorant, arrogant, loud-mouthed classless bigot. And others like him will turn out in droves, driving their confederate flag-adorned pick-up trucks, to vote for him. I cringe.”

“It’s not just Trump. Both sides of the aisle are using it to further their agendas. Obama and Hillary Clinton are pushing for useless gun control measures in the name of fighting terrorism, and a host of Republicans are pushing for restrictions on immigration.”

“Have any of you read your immigration history for our country? I’ll bet not. It wasn’t just in the 20th century that certain people were banned from immigrating to the United States. There were also rules that they had to follow to stay in the country. Read it before you jump to stupid conclusions. You might be surprised by what you read.”

“The fear is real, and everybody should be leery of these so-called refugees. The number of men are at least three or four times that of women and children, and they don’t look like what most typical refugees we have seen fleeing their country. Something smells in Denmark, as the saying goes. All the young men from the age of 14 up should be refused entrance to our country. We should help women and young children, older senior citizens and people that are severely handicapped. All others no, regardless of the reason. We can and should help, but we shouldn’t be stupid and accept just any refugee.”

“Exaggerated? How could anyone think that after what just happened in California? These people want to kill us, and they are already living here. Why open the gates and allow more radicals in. What Trump is saying should be common sense. How many more attacks will it take to realize that maybe the guy has a good point?”

“We are being targeted by these extremists because of our freedom. To expel anybody, we lose and go against all we believe in.”

“All this bigot talk is ridiculous! Idiots immediately cry out racism and bigotry! One day the idiots eyes will open when a Muslim beheads someone in their hometown. This PC stuff has got to stop. We need to stop worrying about offending someone.”

“Now that is about the dumbest thing I’ve read all day.”
