Monessen scores 47 in first period, stomps J-M, 108-20
Monessen showed no mercy in one of the most lopsided first periods in WPIAL history, using its dominating press to out-score host Jefferson-Morgan 47-2 on its way to a 108-20 win in a Section 3-A game on Tuesday night.
The Greyhounds added 34 more points in the second frame in rampaging to an 81-12 halftime lead.
Jaden Altomore led the way with 30 points for Monessen (3-2, 1-0). Dwight Moore added 23 and was followed by Justice Rice with 17 and Lavalle Rush with 14.
The Rockets (0-5, 0-2) were led by Gage Clark with six points.
