West Virginia man found dead in Greene Co. identified
WAYNESBURG — State police have identified the remains of a man found in a wooded area in Franklin Township nearly six months ago.
According to police, the victim was identified as John Kirby Raikes, 58, of Fairmont, W.Va.
Raikes was reported missing from his home on June 20. A week later, his blue Honda Civic was found at a Franklin Township motel.
In late August, police said his remains were found by some juveniles riding ATVs in a wooded area about a quarter mile from the motel.
On Friday, police said that based upon the ongoing investigation there was no indication of foul play.
