Corrina Elias Applause
The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce has honored Corrina Elias of Uniontown, a junior at Uniontown Area Senior High, as a student of the month for October.
A daughter of Wendy Shriver-Elias and Paul J. Elias, she plans to further her education by studying science and math with the career goal of being an astronaut and working in the space program.
Elias was chosen to attend the Envision Science Youth Leadership Forum at the University of Maryland.
She is active in extracurricular activities at Uniontown Area Senior High, including cross country, track and field and Raiderettes.
Elias has work experience at the Yum Yum Bagel Cafe and Yum Yum Bakery.
Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s education council. They will be presented a recognition certificate at the students of the month dinner in April.
