Chelsea Young Applause

The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce has honored Chelsea Young of Point Marion, a junior at the Fayette County Career and Technical Institute, as a student of the month for November.

A daughter of Beth Moats and Roger Young, she plans to further her education at West Virginia University by studying oncology with the career goal of becoming an oncology nurse.

Young received first place in extemporaneous in the local Skills USA competition and fourth place at the state level. she is an honor roll student at Fayette CTI and her high school.

She is secretary of her Students Against Destructive Decisions group.

Young volunteers at Friendship Hill and works at Ruby and Ketchy’s Diner.

Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s education council. They will be presented a recognition certificate at the students of the month dinner in April.
