Three inmates face assault charges
Three inmates at the Fayette County Prison face charges for allegedly assaulting a fourth man who is being held at the prison.
Uniontown City Police filed charges of assault by a prisoner, simple assault, conspiracy to commit indecent assault and harassment against Cody Darrell, 19, Juanya Knopsnider, 19, and Antoine Baker, 21, for allegedly assaulting Bryan Price at the jail on Dec. 23.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed with the charges, Price was allegedly assaulted by the three men after being called to Baker’s cell at the county prison.
In addition to the three men punching and kicking Price, Baker reportedly put on a black latex glove, but Price told investigators he managed to get out of the cell before being further assaulted.
According to the affidavit, Price was treated at the prison infirmary for bleeding, bruising, redness and swelling to his face, back, stomach and side, as well as for a tear to his right ear. He received further treatment at Uniontown Hospital.
Preliminary arraignments were held for the three Friday before Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros of Uniontown.
The three face preliminary hearings before Metros on Jan. 13. Metros set bond for each man at $25,000.
