Police said Brenden Cooper, 18, was traveling eastbound on Route 982 on his dirt bike when he collided with another vehicle in the westbound lane, driven by Gary Glass Jr., 32, of Connellsville.

Cooper was thrown from the bike and came to rest on the berm of the eastbound lane of Route 982 while the bike came to rest in the parking lot of the Honey Bear Gas Station on Route 119, police said.

The accident was reported around 9:18 p.m. and Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:32 p.m. by the coroner’s office. Deputy Coroner Jessie Camilli said the cause of death appears to be blunt force trauma, pending toxicology test results.
