Preliminary hearing continued for Uniontown woman

A Uniontown woman charged for her alleged role in an ice cream truck hold-up had her preliminary hearing delayed for three weeks.
Tiajana Yasmen Brown’s hearing was rescheduled for Aug. 11 at 1:45 p.m. after Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros approved its continuance. Fayette County District Attorney Jack R. Heneks Jr. declined on comment on the reason for the delay.
Brown, 21, was also released on unsecured bond. She faces charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit theft, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, recklessly endangering another person, conspiracy to commit receiving stolen property, conspiracy to recklessly endanger another person, simple assault and conspiracy to commit simple assault.
According to Uniontown police, Theodore Finnell was driving an ice cream truck along Millview Street around 3 p.m. May 24 when Brown and another unidentified man allegedly approached the truck.
The complaint states that the unidentified man went toward the back of the truck while Brown pointed out the ice cream that she wanted. The man then allegedly pulled a black ski mask over his face before pointing a small handgun at Finnell, demanding money, police said.
Finnell allegedly grabbed the cash register and gave it to the man while Brown was holding a dark pink or purple handgun, the complaint said.
Brown and her alleged accomplice then fled through the Solid Rock Ministry Church’s parking lot after Brown grabbed the cash register’s money drawer, according to the complaint.
