Cheyenne Wasko
Brownsville Rotary Club recently honored Cheyenne Wasko by naming her its September student of the month.
A senior at Brownsville Area High School, she is the daughter of Mark and Tina Wasko of Brownsville.
In school, Wasko is the president of Interact club and treasurer of student council. She is a member of the Senior Cabinet, Student Forum, Tri-Hi-Y, Academic League, the Gateway/Gifted Program, the Spanish Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
Wasko is captain of the high school softball team. She is a member of the All-County, All-Section and Herald-Standard All-Area Softball Teams. Outside of school, Wasko has played softball for the past 12 years, including travel/showcase teams for the past five years.
She is involved in the community with Brownsville Light Up Night, Brownsville Community Days, Children and Youth Services Christmas Party, Military Troop Collections, and Pennies for Patients with the Leukemia Society.
After graduation, Wasko plans on attending Waynesburg University to continue her academic and athletic career. She plans to major in secondary education in biology and psychology.
