Yellow Jacket Athletes of the Week: Matt Bensinger
Senior Matt Bensinger was named Athlete of the Week for his recent performances on the diamond.
The Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania, native hit .353 over four games while posting team highs in home runs, runs scored and runs batted in. Bensinger also compiled a .522 on-base percentage and slugged .706 to lead Waynesburg to a 2-3 record. Bensinger also was a star in the field for the Yellow Jackets playing error-free in the field and registering 21 putouts.
Waynesburg returns to the park on Friday, April 22, for a single, nine-inning game against the Thiel Tomcats in Waynesburg. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
