The following information details achievements in education earned by those in the Herald-Standard readership area.

Pritts accepted

Alexandrea Pritts of Mount Pleasant will attend Rochester Institute of Technology for the 2016-2017 academic year. Pritts is enrolled in the physician assistant program in RIT’s College of Health Sciences and Technology. The daughter of David Pritts and Andrea Pritts, she is a 2016 graduate of Mount Pleasant Area High School.

Principal named

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg named Dr. Nina Zetty principal of St. Sebastian Regional School in Belle Vernon. A native of Brownsville with 27 years of experience as an administrator and teacher, Zetty began the position Aug. 10.

Zetty previously served as an adjunct professor at Carlow University, superintendent in the Gateway and Peters Township school districts and as an administrator in the Bentworth, Keystone Oaks and Jefferson-Morgan school districts. She also taught mathematics and computer science at Jefferson-Morgan Junior-Senior High School.

Zetty has a doctorate in education from West Virginia University; Pennsylvania certification as a secondary principal from California University of Pennsylvania; a superintendent’s letter of eligibility from Duquesne University; and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in secondary education from California University of Pennsylvania.

Students enroll

Dante Altemara of Belle Vernon and Ashley Franczyk of Fairchance recently began studies in the Marietta College physician assistant graduate program. Altemara, a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College, and Franczyk, a Waynesburg College graduate, are scheduled to graduate from Marietta College in July 2018.

Sealy named

Julie Sealy of Brownsville was named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University for the 2016 spring semester.

Faculty introduced

Waynesburg University welcomed seven new faculty members for the 2016-17 academic term:

Dr. David Corbett will serve as an assistant professor of business administration. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from California University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. from Argosy University.

Jayne Olshanksi has been named an assistant professor of accounting.

She received her B.S. degree and M.B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University and is a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania.

Jody Rawlings has joined the university as an instructor of nursing. She received her B.A. and B.S. degrees from Waynesburg University and her M.S. degree from Excelsor College.

Dr. Fawn Robinson has been named an assistant professor of counseling. She received her B.S.B.A. degree from Clarion University, her M.A. degree from Slippery Rock University and her Ph.D. from Duquesne University.

Joseph Shaffer will serve as an assistant professor of athletic training, the director of the Athletic Training Program and an assistant athletic trainer. He received his B.S. degree from Lock Haven University and his M.S. degree from West Virginia University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.

William Stough has joined the university as an instructor of business administration. He received his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Waynesburg University and is a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania.

Joshua Sumpter will serve as an instructor of biblical and ministry studies and assistant chaplain. He received his B.A. degree from Ashland University, his M.A. degree from Waynesburg University and a M.Div. degree from Ashland Theological Seminary.
