Jacob Dukman Applause

The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce recently honored Jacob Dukman of Uniontown, a junior at Laurel Highlands High School, as a student of the month for November.

A son of Tiffany and John Dukman, he plans to study electrical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, California University or St. Vincent College with the career goal of obtaining a position at an engineering firm.

Dukman has been nominated to The Congress of Future Science — Technology, was student of the month in academic English in 2014 and in engineering in 2015 and has been nominated to attend the National Young Leaders Conference.

He is active in extracurricular activities at Laurel Highlands High School including Junior Achievement, Students against Destructive Decisions and varsity football.

Dukman’s community involvement includes volunteer coach for T-ball, the H.A.R.C. League and a member of the Little White Rock Church.

The sponsors of the Laurel Highlands High School students of the month, first semester, are Marilyn and Robert Garbart.
