Elizabeth Rockwell Applause
The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce recently honored Elizabeth Rockwell of Hopwood, a junior at Laurel Highlands High School, as a student of the month for November.
A daughter of Kasee and Robert Martin, she plans to study music education with a minor in music cognition at Ohio State University with the career goal of becoming a post-secondary music teacher.
Rockwell is a member of the 4.0 club, has maintained highest honor roll since sixth grade and was the honors-advanced algebra student of the month for January.
She is active in the extracurricular activities at Laurel Highlands High School including the Mustang Marching band, percussion ensemble, member of the Mini Mighty Mustang Mentors, student forum, Student Voice, Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, Junior Achievement, Students Against Destructive Decisions officer and member of the math competition team.
Rockwell’s community involvement includes working with future Laurel Highlands students to promote education and hope to inspire the next generation of students as a member of the Mini Mighty Mustang Mentor program.
