Q&A
College plans: Robert Morris University on a softball scholarship and studying Sports Psychology and Sports Therapy.
Favorite subject, teacher: AP Calculus is my favorite and most rewarding class. All of my teachers are favorites of mine because they are very supportive and work with me through all three of my sports.
Twitter, Facebook or text messaging: Text messaging is most used of the three, however, I enjoy having face-to-face conversations because it is more personable.
Most memorable sports moments (so far): Hitting a walk-off home run against Mt. Pleasant and hitting a walk-off Grand Slam against Derry Area my junior year.
Favorite food: Chicken Parmesan.
Least favorite cafeteria food: Chinese.
Most recent books read, excluding textbooks: Stolen, by Lucy Christopher, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, by Jenny Han.
All-time favorite movie: The Fault in Our Stars, directed by Josh Boone.
On my iPod: Country, Hip Hop, Pop and Rap
Most admired professional athlete: Hines Ward and Charlie Batch. Hines Ward has always been a respectable and positive player on and off the field. Not only does he give to multiple charities, but he has his own, “Helping Hands Foundation.” As a backup quarterback, Charlie Batch had to work twice as hard to stay competitive and to always be prepared to go in at any moment during the game. Like Hines Ward, Charlie also consistently gives back to the community and to those less fortunate.
Greatest influence on you as an athlete: My family and all of my current and past coaches, but especially coach Shawn Gray and his daughter, Olivia.
In 10 years, I will be: Working in a profession that I love, coaching and providing hitting lessons to young adults … and married to my high school sweetheart.
If I were President of the United States for one day, I would: Enact an inheritance tax law on liquid assets that would tax 50 percent of income over $20 million to initially aid and empower those who are unemployed, or uneducated. By educating and creating jobs for the less fortunate they can enjoy the financial freedom that everyone in America deserves.
