A Connellsville man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Bullskin Township on Saturday.

State police said George G. Richter Jr., 47, was coming from East End Road through its intersection with Route 119 at around 2:40 p.m. when another vehicle traveling north on 119 failed to stop at the red light and struck Richter broadside.

The impact caused the Chevrolet S10 Richter was driving to spin clockwise, and he was ejected when the truck’s door came open during the spin, police said.

According to police, the driver of the Durastar truck that collided with Richter’s vehicle, 25-year-old Ryan M. Novella of Hastings, was not injured.

Richter was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh and was listed in critical but stable condition Saturday. No update on his condition was available Sunday.
