Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders’s plan for a government-run health care system from cradle to grave is coming under criticism for being unrealistic and too costly. What do you think about the plan? Do you think there’s any chance Sanders could get Republicans to go along with him, considering their heated opposition to Obamacare?

“It is insanity that the world’s lone superpower does not better provide healthcare and education. Other first-world countries do it better.”

“Our healthcare is tremendous. It’s costly, but you get what you pay for. I went in to see about my knee pain and within four weeks I had knee replacement surgery and was back on the golf course in two months. I had an MRI in two days. I was up in Canada and the one guy I was talking to said his mom has been on a knee replacement list for 18 months and will probably be there for another six. Government healthcare will ration the care you receive. Now if you go in for a compound fracture, yeah you are seen right away, but if you walk into an ER with no insurance, you will be seen right away.”

“Everyone always knows a guy who had a bad experience in Canada. Therefore, universal healthcare in the U.S. is a mistake.”

“What’s the point of health care if no can afford to use it. Only the rich can afford it now in the U.S. Most working people even with insurance pay a ton in deductibles and co-pays. These insurance companies are very greedy because they know people have to pay it. There has to be a better system than ours.”

“President Obama has vetoed everything the Republicans have put on his desk. Government is a two-way street.”
