Campus engages accepted students
With prospective students making their college choices soon, WUchoose2016 could be a turning point for students who have had Waynesburg on their radar, said Shari Payne, vice president of Enrollment.
During the second session of the day, students who were interested in becoming student athletes could go to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse and hear from current players and coaches. Sam Nichols, a sophomore criminal justice major and member of the women’s soccer team, tried to relay her experiences as a student athlete to the visitors.
“The day itself has definitely evolved over the course of the last few years,” Floyd said. “Four years ago, it was kids coming on campus and interviewing for scholarships. This year we wanted to invite all accepted students. We wanted all students to have that opportunity-to where if they’re down to two or three schools they have the opportunity to come back and get one final look and really get a feel for what it’s like to be a student here.”
“Overall, we were extremely pleased with the program,” said Payne. “The chapel was filled all the way to the back of the balcony. Early feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.”
