Nadia Mason Applause

The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce recently honored Nadia Mason of Cardale, a junior at Brownsville Area High School, as a student of the month for January.

A daughter of Robert Mason III and the late Paola Mason, she plans to further her education at California University of Pennsylvania studying computer science with the career goal of becoming a computer consultant for FedEx.

Mason is active in the extracurricular activities at Brownsville, including cheerleading, track and field, environmental club, student council, Interact Club, Spanish Honor Society, math competition and The Future is Mine.

She has received the Superintendent’s Award, the President’s Award, is a member of the 4.0 Club at Penn State Fayette the Fayette County NAACP, National Society of High School Scholars and Who’s Who in America.

Mason’s community involvement includes work for Brownsville through the Interact and Environmental Clubs.

She has work experience babysitting.

Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s Education Council and will be presented a recognition certificate at the students of the month dinner in April.
